While videotape is a very convenient medium to shoot on, it is, unfortunately, a very poor storage medium. Videotapes start to deteriorate in as little as five years. The backing tape starts to break down, and shed the oxide which actually holds the video information. Even under ideal conditions, they need to be spooled to the end and back to the beginning every 6 to 12 months (Pick a warm dry day). Consider transferring your memories to DVD. Good quality DVDs are estimated to last for up to 100 years. Some places charge extra for TY Taiyo Yuden discs (acknowledged as the best duplication discs) while we use them as standard. Taiyo Yuden developed the first CD media for Sony/Phillips when the CD was born.
We have the facilities for VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi-8 and MiniDV. Other formats can usually be supported if you still have the camera.
If you would like the vision edited, or perhaps have background music added, we are able to do this at very competitive rates.
If you would prefer to edit the converted footage yourself and author your own DVDs, please contact us as we can provide the digitised conversion in various formats.

Got a Hard Drive camera which is nearly full? We can take the vision off it and transfer it to DVD for you to keep.

Want extra copies for the rest of the family?

We can provide extra copies of your DVD at the same time.

How Much?

$50 per tape which includes the first 2 hours of content, then $30 for each 2 hours after that. Please keep in mind that a 4 hour tape recorded in “Long play” can run up to eight hours. The reason for the 2 hours, is that for maximum player compatibility and picture quality, 2 hours is as much as can be put onto a disc.

Video on memory cards and Hard Drive cameras are charged at $40 for the first 4GB and $30 for each additional 4GB.

If you are sending tapes or cards to our Post Office box (PO Box 295, Morley, Western Australia, 6943) we strongly advise you use Registered Mail. We will return your material the same way for $10.
