| The quality of our film to DVD transfers is awesome. There is no flicker, no jittering, no hot spots, no burnt out frames. Looks like it was filmed with a video camera, while still retaining the warmth, look and feel of film and well worth the extra dollars to preserve your precious film and Treasured Memories.Your precious film is never subjected to the high temperature of a projector light bulb, which can damage the film. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided with projected or telecine capture. Remember, if the film gets stuck, the film will burn through due to the excessive heat and those frames are then lost forever. Our scanner uses a harmless low wattage cool white LED array that cannot damage the film. Most projected and standard telecine systems can only attain 240 lines of horizontal resolution, while DVD supports over 500 lines. We have installed a state-of-the-art High Definition camera to extract the maximum possible information from each frame of film. It really makes no sense to accept old technology when the most advanced technology is now available. The quality of the converted film is totally dependent on the condition of the films you have provided us. Assuming your films are in good condition, you will receive the best possible conversion available. If the original film is badly scratched, has burnt frames, is blurred or out of focus and contains numerous other defects, this will still show on your converted footage. Your source films and footage are what they are and cannot be changed without spending megabucks on digital re-mastering. Although your DVD will be of a much higher and better quality than you could ever see through your projector, those original faults will still be there. Yes, we do clean your film before we scan it. Remember, you should only ever need to do this conversion to DVD once, so it's worth getting the best you can afford. (The DVDs will play on the new Blue-Ray players too). Want extra copies for the rest of the family? We can provide extra copies of your DVD at the same time. If you want to edit your film before we transfer it, we do have bottles of film cement and cleaning fluid in stock. We also have a film viewer available so you can see what is on your films. If you would prefer to edit the converted footage yourself and author your own DVDs, please contact us as we can provide the digitised conversion in various formats. |
